Spring has officially sprung. The first brave petals are peeking through, blue skies are making a welcome reappearance, and we’re finally waking up to the sound of birdsong and gold-tinted mornings. Today marks the Spring Equinox, that perfect seasonal ‘sweet spot’; we get the longer, brighter days we’ve been craving, minus the biting chill of winter or the heavy heat of mid-July.

Enjoy Time Outside

Saying goodbye to Winter means the return of more outside living. It’s time to swap the indoors for the garden, reaping the rewards of fresh air and natural sunlight. With around one in six adults in the UK experiencing low Vitamin D levels after the darker months, stepping into the spring sunshine is more than just a pleasure - it is important for our wellness. A few moments in nature supports everything from immune resilience to cognitive clarity and muscle health.

At Pegasus Homes, our communities are an extension of your home. Residents can spend afternoons in the grandeur of the landscaped gardens at The Vincent or bask in the walled gardens at Cobham Bowers. And because our dedicated teams handle every aspect of the upkeep, your only springtime 'chore' is deciding exactly where to enjoy your morning coffee.

Spring Clean

Spring is the season of renewal. A time where many of us choose to declutter our spaces and our minds. Whether it’s swapping your interior palette with seasonal soft furnishings or simply clearing away the winter dust, a fresh home sets us up for the new season.

Mel Nicholson shares tips on refreshing your home for the season here.

The Social Spring

Winter often invites a natural period of hibernation, but Spring signals a time for getting together, something our residents are well-versed in. As the days stretch out, our social calendars fill up more. It’s a time when a morning greeting in the hallway turns into a shared coffee on a sun-drenched rooftop terrace (like at Belle Vue), and an afternoon walk with neighbours evolves into a pre-dinner glass of wine on the terrace (like at Lymington Gate). Our thoughtfully curated spaces offer the best of both worlds: being social without the hassle of hosting in your own apartment.

Seasonal Wellness and Nutrition

Spring's arrival is the perfect time to refresh your palate with fresh, seasonal dishes. Embrace the flavours of the season by exploring new recipes featuring produce like asparagus, radishes, spinach, and rhubarb, all readily available in the UK during this time. These ingredients are ideal for crafting the perfect additions to your first picnic of the year.

Residents at our Highfields community in West Byfleet have the added benefit of on-site allotments, making it even easier to grow their own produce and enjoy the culinary delights of Spring.
