A place deer to my heart - Anne Hugo, Lymington

For Anne, the move to Pegasus Homes’ Lymington Gate community, in the heart of the New Forest was a familiar one as she had many fond memories of the area from her childhood. Anne’s sister moved to Lymington when Anne was growing up, and she recalls enjoying the open spaces that the forest has to offer, as well as the famous New Forest wildlife - memories which have stayed ‘deer’ to her heart to this very day! Originally from Manchester, Anne says she believes she was always ‘meant’ to end up back in Lymington.

“I do believe it is fate that I have ended up in Lymington,” Anne tells us “I always wanted to move back here since I was a child. It definitely feels like a homecoming.”

Anne and her husband relocated from their four bedroom home to a one bedroom apartment at Lymington Gate; but the downsizing element of the move didn’t phase Anne in the slightest, due to the specification and design of her new Pegasus Home:

Anne was able, due to the design of the apartment and the balcony that extends out from their living space, to bring with her a much-loved bronze deer sculpture from the garden of her previous home. The deer now sits proudly on the balcony of their new home and is viewable for everyone who enters the community to enjoy - a real focal point of the community.

And the wider community itself is another thing that drew Anne to Lymington Gate. “I’m so proud to show off my home to visiting family and friends. It’s like a 5 star hotel, my friends love coming to visit and enjoying the communal lounge and terrace - and I honestly feel like I’m on holiday all the time! I’ve never felt so relaxed.”
