It's that time of year where the Sunday Times release their Best Places to Live in the UK guide. They scour the UK, hunting out the best places to live where there are good transport links, a range of leisure amenities, shops, restaurants, good schools, local green spaces and above all, a solid and friendly community feel. Two of our favorite spots have taken center stage this year. Falmouth and Wimborne Minster have officially been named among the UK’s top locations. We’ve long known these towns were special, it’s why our residents already call them home. Whether it’s the salt air at The Fitzroy in Cornwall or the historic charm of our Wimborne community, we’re proud to be right in the heart of the UK’s most desirable postcodes.
Falmouth, Cornwall
Often associated with glorious summer holidays, Falmouth has been listed as one of the best places to live in the South West of the UK in 2026. This town offers “stylish seaside living with a creative vibe”. Unlike some seasonal coastal towns, Falmouth remains a bright, busy, and industrious maritime center where it is actually possible to build a career and make a living year-round.
At the heart of the community is Gyllyngvase Beach, a golden crescent of sand that functions as a town square. This is the town’s hub of activity, it’s shared by morning swimmers, yoga lovers, and those warming up in the Kiln sauna. That same energy extends to the Old High Street, a haven for residents and visitors; spend your days browsing antiques, vinyl, and curiosities.
You’ll never be hungry here, there is an assortment of independent cafes and a nightlife that defies the coastal norm. You can find folk music and poetry at The Moth and the Moon, sip cocktails at the surreal Chintz bar, or pair a real ale with a new novel at Beerwolf Books. With a heavy rotation of festivals at The Cornish Bank and cultural lectures at The Poly, Falmouth offers a sophisticated, maritime lifestyle that is as productive as it is picturesque.
The Fitzroy
Perched along the beachfront with panoramic views of Falmouth Bay and the historic Pendennis Castle, The Fitzroy offers seaside living at its best. The sea breeze and fresh air enhances your wellbeing as you go about your everyday.
Architecturally, The Fitzroy serves as a contemporary homage to the grand seaside hotels of the past. Situated in the heart of a thriving maritime town, you are steps away from local amenities, art galleries, a thriving café culture, and a working port. Inside, life is designed for effortless connection; whether you’re enjoying the sun terrace with direct views overlooking the beach, or hosting friends in the shared lounge and guest suite, everything you need is at your fingertips.

Wimborne Minster, Dorset
Wimborne Minster balances a rich heritage with modern energy. Hailed as a "fine example of a traditional English market town," much of the town looks like it belongs on a picture-perfect postcard with wisteria-covered houses and the rolling beauty of the surrounding countryside. Beyond its looks, the town is anchored by a strong sense of community and a bustling center that hosts an impressive array of amenities, from the glorious Art Deco Tivoli Theatre to a diverse mix of independent shops and cafes. Life here is defined by an active sense of community. There are a wealth of clubs, societies, and the volunteer-led folk festival, the town's largest annual event.
Wimborne has also been titled an upcoming foodie destination, offering a "wonderful mix of established old favourites" alongside innovative new eateries that keep the local culinary scene fresh and exciting.
Wimborne
A short walk from the town’s vibrant high street, our Wimborne community grants you the perfect blend of countryside and convenience. This collection of homes are stylishly presented with some offering views of the River Allen. The communal lounge is the social hub, where neighbours catch up daily and events are organised on a regular basis. Outside, the sunny landscaped gardens offer plenty of comfortable alfresco seating and a luxurious guest suite is available to book for overnight visitors.
If countryside walks are your thing, residents are in close proximity to the Dorset countryside and the Jurassic Coastline affords you endless opportunities for your next ramble and days spent discovering charming coastal towns.
