Bowls England is pleased to announce a new partnership with Pegasus Homes; a leading provider of high-quality homes designed exclusively for independent later living.

The partnership will bring to life both Pegasus Homes’ and Bowls England’s
commitment in creating opportunities for people to remain active and social, through sport and communities.

Specialising in creating beautifully designed homes and vibrant communities for the over-60s, with a focus on wellbeing, connection and living well in later life, Pegasus Homes is a strong alignment with Bowls England’s goals  - that everybody should have the opportunity to realise the joy and benefit of playing sport.

As one of the biggest sports for the over 65s, bowls plays an important role in the
nation’s wellbeing and has a vitalising impact on players’ health, with 80% of bowlers saying it has a positive effect.

Initiatives like our senior competitions and Bowls’ Big Summer - our upcoming
campaign designed to inspire more people to try out the sport in the lead up to and post the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games – alongside the support from Pegasus Homes, will provide opportunities to assist in helping people live well in later life.

The announcement sees Pegasus Homes join Bowls England’s family
of partners who each share its ambition to grow participation and strengthen
communities through bowls.

Chris Powell, Chief Operating Officer at Pegasus Homes, said:
“We’re proud to be partnering with Bowls England at a time when there is a growing focus on helping people stay active and connected as they get older. Bowls is a sport that brings together wellbeing and community – values that sit at the heart of everything we do at Pegasus Homes. We’re excited to champion the sport through this new partnership and, in turn, Bowls England’s strong and shared philosophy of bringing life to years, over years to life.”

Jon Cockcroft, Chief Executive of Bowls England, said:
“We are delighted to welcome Pegasus Homes as a partner of Bowls England. With strong alignment between our audiences and values, we look forward to working together to amplify existing opportunities for senior players, welcome new participants and driving our mutual goal of promoting active and connected lifestyles in later life.”

About Bowls England
Bowls England is the national governing body for lawn bowls in England and is
responsible for the development and promotion of the sport from grassroots
participation through to the elite level. The organisation supports a nationwide
network of over 1,800 affiliated clubs and more than 90,000 members, delivering
national competitions, supporting club development and promoting the many
physical, mental and social benefits of bowls.

The Commonwealth Games is the pinnacle event for our sport and the biggest multi- sport event of the year. It creates unparalleled levels of visibility, inspires new people to take up bowls and provides a key ambition for our leading bowlers. Our aspiration is that Glasgow 2026 will be a success both on and off the green – securing medals on behalf of Team England alongside using the event to demonstrate our sport’s inclusivity and encouraging new participants.

Bowls’ Big Summer is a nationwide campaign designed to capitalise on the
increased visibility of the sport during Glasgow 2026. Building on the success of Birmingham 2022, which attracted over 10 million BBC viewers, the campaign aims to raise awareness of the sport’s unique social, physical and mental wellbeing benefits, while inspiring more people to give bowls a try. At the centre of the campaign is the mobilisation of more than 1,800 clubs across the country, opening their doors at key moments throughout the summer to provide welcoming, engaging and high-quality first bowls experiences for new participants.
