Our Rustington community is nestled in a picture perfect spot on the West Sussex coast. As warmer days get closer, we’ve rounded up our top recommendations for beach strolls and coastal days out within easy reach.

Rustington Beach

The closest to our community is the peaceful Rustington beach. A typical Sussex beach which is largely shingle, but as the tide goes out an expanse of flat sand stretches down to the water’s edge, making it the perfect spot for an afternoon stroll. It’s an unspoilt stretch which is renowned for being quiet, so visitors won’t need to compete for a good spot on the sand!

Norfolk Road

A little further along towards Littlehampton is Norfolk Road, the first of Littlehampton’s beach fronts, a predominantly shingle beach which is a short walk from the seaside resort. This beach is best known for its brightly-coloured beach huts along the top. Its proximity to the harbour town of Littlehampton means you can easily access a variety of seaside amenities including a pier and promenade.

Littlehampton East Beach

Littlehampton is a popular seaside resort and the East beach is a mile long sand and shingle beach. It offers everything you’d expect from a British seaside day out including a promenade, amusements, and beautiful seafront gardens. An interesting feature is the 1,000 foot long bench running along the front, making it the UK’s longest bench! There’s also plenty of sand, making it the perfect spot for visiting with family and making sand castles with the grandchildren.

You can also enjoy a spot of brunch or evening dinner at the stunning East Beach Café which serves seaside favourites and food inspired by beach holidays abroad. Not only is the food wonderful but the building itself is stunning, created by renowned architect Thomas Heatherwick.

Littlehampton West Beach

Just across the River Arun is West Beach, a world away from the East Beach. A quieter spot and a Site of Special Scientific Interest, it is home to one of only three sand dune systems in West Sussex. The pebbly beach is great for a sunny stroll particularly for four legged friends who are welcome all year round.
