Shopping local has been a key message over the past year, and there really is nothing better than travelling a short distance to buy the best products that have also been grown locally too. Not only are you supporting your local produce suppliers but you’re also eating some of the freshest produce.

Our Renaissance Wharf Lane community in Bourne End benefits from being surrounded by fantastic farm shops, so homeowners and tenants are spoilt for choice when it comes to local fresh produce.

We’ve rounded up a handy guide to the local shops we’d recommend paying a visit.

Emmett’s Farm Shop

Just a short drive is Emmett’s Farm Shop at Wilton Farm in Little Marlow. The shop is well known locally for its fantastic selection of farm fresh produce which is all sourced from the farm and trusted local producers. With ever changing stock to suit the seasons the farm shop is a must visit for freshly baked bread, cheese and vegetables as well as other treats like cakes and chutneys. The farm is also home to Phil Bowditch Butchers and Fish Mongers along with Emmett & Stone country sports store and Home Barn a vintage treasures shop so you can enjoy a leisurely visit and treat yourself whilst stocking up on produce.

Town Farm Shop

In the nearby village of Bisham is the Town Farm Shop. Nestled in the historic farm is the little farm shop which supplies fresh and frozen meat, dairy and a small selection of local grown vegetables. Most of the produce is either reared on the farm or brought from local outlets. Froze produce and fresh eggs are available all week, with shoppers able to pop in, pick up what they want and pop their payment in the tin.

Westside Fruit

A family run business in Booker, Westside Fruit stocks a bountiful selection of fresh fruit along with farm shop favourites of jams and chutneys created by independent producers. They also stock a great selection of fresh herb pots. An added bonus is that the family run a florist, The Westside Florist where you can order beautiful bouquets for special occasions or as treat for yourself.

The Hatchery Farm Shop

The Hatchery Farm Shop is another family run farm shop surrounded by the farms free roaming animals. The shop sells a selection of organic meats, fresh fruits and vegetables along with environmentally friendly household and beauty products. It’s well known for its range of tasty home-cooked meals, particularly its pies and scotch eggs which are prepared by their onsite Chef.
